INDIVIDUAL SESSIONS & Costs
M-Check
The foundation of all mechanics, the M-Check is an essential skill for keeping your bike in good, safe working order. It forms the basis of all bike servicing in workshops.
The session covers all checks including:
Wheels; Tyres; Brakes
Headset & Bottom Bracket
Gears; Chain wear; Cranks
Saddle & Seat Post
punctures
The most common problem while you’re out riding but also the one that holds the most fear for many cyclists.
The session covers:
Removing front & rear wheels
Easy tyre removal & installation
Puncture repair
Tubeless repairs (if appropriate)
Brakes
The second most common issue with bikes and an essential one for happy and safe cycling - brakes & brake pads!
Learn to:
Identify brake pads
Replace brake pads
‘Set’ them so they work effectively
All rim & disc brakes welcome
GEARS
Gears - a mystery to many, but they don’t need to be! Once you understand them they are very satisfying to work on.
The session covers:
Removing & replacing cassette
Remove & replace gear cable
‘Index’ gears (set them up to work properly)
Trouble shooting
Rear derailleur and 1x systems
Front derailleur (1hr extra £165 total)
BRAKE BLEEDS
Bleeding hydraulic systems is fun and an incredibly useful skill. There are subtle differences for each system but once you understand the process it’s liberating.
The session covers:
Quick fixes like ‘burping’ Shimano brakes
Full bleed instructions
Fluid and tools
Cleaning & maintaining hydraulic brakes
BB & hEADSET
Bearings! These silver and grease-laden hoops are all over the bike and keep it feeling sweet and smooth. They’re sensitive to pressure, dirt and water so learning how to care for them is key. It is also super easy to do.
Learn to:
Identify & measure bearings
Undo, clean and rebuild Headset
Remove & replace cranks
Identify, remove, clean & replace Bottom Bracket (BB)
